The Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks got an upset win over the #1 ranked Dell Rapids PBR in Dell Rapids on Sunday, June 21st.
After three scoreless innings, the Wood Ducks put together a seven-run top of the fourth inning. Jearl Jesson had an RBI double. Braden Herr followed with an RBI single. Keaton Vessells then had a two-run home run for a 4-0 lead. Camden McDonald added a three-run home run later in the inning for a 7-0 score. PBR got single runs in the bottom of the fifth and seventh innings.
McDonald had a home run and double with three RBIs. Jesson finished with two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Curtis Flint added a single and double. Jacob Ellens also had two hits. Vessells had a home run and two RBIs. Braden Herr had a single with an RBI. Logan Larsen and Brody Jacobson each had one hit.
Ben Honkomp pitched five innings and allowed an earned run on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts. Jesson pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Flint also tossed two innings and allowed one hit with one strikeout.
