The West Central Trojan boys basketball team started the 2025-2026 season by hosting the Dell Rapids Quarriers on Friday, December 12th. The Trojans excited the crowed with a big 70-20 win.
West Central started the game on a 16-0 run and rolled from there. They held Dell Rapids to single digit scoring in all four quarters. The first quarter ended with West Central leading 24-1. They extended the lead to 43-8 by halftime. The Trojans outscored Dell Rapids in both quarters of the second half. They led 60-15 after the end of the third quarter.
West Central shot 55% (27-49) overall in the game, 41% (9-22) on three-point shots, and 7-8 from the free-throw line. Dell Rapids finished the game shooting 18% (7-38) overall, 2-11 from three-point area, and 4-11 from the free-throw line.
Connor Mebius led the team with 19 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Will Kuhl added 12 points and six rebounds. Kolte Garry had eight points and four rebounds. Boche Knight finished with seven points and three steals. Hayden Heier also had seven points with three assists.
