Gamecocks Win Three Straight

The Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks have won three straight games.  They defeated the Flandreau Blue Teal on Thursday, June 19th and then won a double-header against Colman on Sunday, June 22nd.

Gamecocks 18, Blue Teal 7

Hartford/Humboldt scored in every inning but one in their win over Flandreau.  The Gamecocks scored six times right away in the top of the first inning.  Flandreau got two runs in the bottom of the first.  The Gamecocks got two more in the top of the second.  Flandreau cut the lead in half, 6-3, after a run in the bottom of the third.  Each team scored a run in the fourth.  Hartford/Humboldt got another run in the fifth and four more in the sixth for a 14-4 lead.  Flandreau kept the game going with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.  The Gamecocks added four runs in the top of the seventh.  Flandreau was unable to score in their half of the inning, and the game ended on the 10-run rule.

Adam Hentges had three hits, one a double, and three RBIs.  Broc Haldeman had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs.  Kyle Konechne also had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Cam Quigley had two singles.  Noah Vettrus had a double and four RBIs.  W Hultgren finished with a single and an RBI.  Tyler Migliante had a hit as well.

Gamecocks 12, Colman 1

Hartford/Humboldt cruised to a big win in the first game against the Colman Argali.  The Gamecocks scored two in the first, five in the second, and three in the third for an early 10-0 lead.  Colman scored one in the bottom of the fourth.  Colman scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth.  The Gamecocks added two more runs in the top of the sixth.

Joe Hanisch had two doubles and three RBIs.  Quigley also had two doubles with two RBIs.  Hentges finished with a double and two RBIs.  Jonah Rechtenbaugh had a triple and an RBI.  Konechne finished with a double, and Vettrus had a single with an RBI.  Cole Barthel pitched six innings and allowed an earned run on three hits and five walks.

Gamecocks 9, Colman 7

In the second game, Hartford/Humboldt had to come from behind for the 9-7 win.  Colman scored three in the top of the first.  The Gamecocks got one run back in the bottom of the inning.  After a scoreless second inning, the Argali added two more in the top of the third for a 5-1 lead.  The Gamecocks responded with six runs in the bottom of the third and then two more in the fourth for a 9-5 lead.  Colman added two runs in the top of the seventh, but had their rally stopped.

Hentges had three hits and three RBIs.  Quigley had a single and home run with an RBI.  Rechtenbaugh and Hanisch both had two doubles and an RBI each.  Cooper Maras had a double with two RBIs.  Migliante had a hit and an RBI.  Konechne had a double, and Vettrus had a single.
