West Central Boys Finish Regular Season with Sixth Straight Win

The West Central Trojan boys ended their regular season and sixth straight home game with their sixth straight win on Monday, February 26th against the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies.  The Trojans went on a big run in the second quarter on their way to a 61-35 victory.

West Central opened the game with a 6-0 run and ended the first quarter with a 16-8 lead.  The Trojans then went on a 14-0 spurt to push their lead to 30-8 with 2:30 to play in the second quarter.  They never looked back from there.  The Trojans led 36-11 at halftime and then took a 55-27 lead into the fourth quarter.

Connor Mebius finished with 20 points, five rebounds, five steals, and two assists.  Will Kuhl added 16 points, two assists, and two steals.  Luke Knight had seven rebounds in the game.

The Trojans finished the regular season with a 17-3 record and the #1 seed in the Region 3A tournament.  They earned a first-round bye in the tournament and will play in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Friday, March 7th.
