In a battle of top 5 teams, the #2 ranked Hamlin Chargers defeated the #4 ranked West Central Trojans 53-48 in double overtime at the Dak-12/NEC Conference Clash in Madison on Saturday, February 1st.
The Trojans held the lead through the first two quarters of play. West Central had a 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. They then held a 23-18 lead at halftime. Hamlin doubled up the Trojans 12-6 in the third quarter to go in front 30-29 going into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter ended with a 38-38 tie. Both teams scored three points in the first overtime for a 41-41 score. Hamlin was able to outlast the Trojans 12-7 in the second overtime for a 53-48 win.
Connor Mebius had 27 points. Will Kuhl added eight points. Hayden Heier had six points, and Carter Gross had three points.
