The West Central Trojans fell short against the top team in Class B, the Castlewood Warriors, at the DVC Border Battle Classic in Colman on Saturday, January 18th. The Warriors took the win 49-45.
The first quarter ended with the Trojans leading 8-7. West Central extended their lead to 21-14 with 3:00 to play in the second quarter. The Warriors cut the lead down to four points, 23-19, by halftime. Castlewood went on a run in the third quarter. They went ahead 32-25 with 3:15 remaining in the third. West Central cut the lead to two points, 37-35, by the end of the quarter. West Central would go back in front 41-40 with 5:00 to play in the game and then 43-42 with 4:00 remaining. Castlewood finished the game on a 7-2 run for the win.
Connor Mebius had 20 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Kolte Garry had eight points and seven rebounds. Luke Knight finished with six points and four rebounds. Will Kuhl had five points and five rebounds.
