The West Central Trojan boys hosted the Hill City Rangers on Friday, January 3rd. The Trojans’ hot shooting in the second and third quarters helped them to a 62-45 win.
Neither team scored in the first four minutes of the game. West Central finally broke the scoreless tie and took a 14-5 lead by the end of the quarter. They would outscore the Rangers 14-7 in the second quarter to grow the lead to 28-12. The big blow by West Central came in the third quarter. West Central’s defense held Hill City to just eight points in the third quarter and grew the lead to 47-20 by the end of the quarter. That advantage was more than enough for the win.
Will Kuhl finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals. Luke Knight had 10 points and five rebounds. Connor Mebius added seven points and three rebounds. Kolte Garry had six points and seven rebounds. Carter Gross ended with five points and four rebounds.
