The West Central Trojans took a big win over the Milbank Bulldogs in Milbank on Friday, October 18th. The Trojans scored 51 straight points in a 51-7 win.
Milbank got a big play for the first score of the game. With 7:04 in the first quarter, the Bulldogs scored on an 86-yard touchdown run for an early 7-0 lead after the made extra point. The Trojans responded with 5:16 to go in the quarter. Aiden Bartmann scored on a 31-yard touchdown run. The made extra point, Lane Miller, tied the game 7-7. Bartmann scored again from five yards away with 2:53 left in the opening quarter. Miller’s extra point put the Trojans in front 14-7. Patrick Hammond scored on a 48-yard touchdown run with 1:04 left in the opening quarter. West Central led 21-7 at the end of the first quarter.
The defense put a touchdown on the board for West Central to start the second quarter. Karsen Wilde had a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown. A made two-point conversion pushed the lead to 29-7 with 11:52 to play in the first half. The Trojans scored again seconds later. Keaton Vessells had a 37-yard touchdown run with 11:15 remaining. Another two-point conversion made the score 37-7. They would get one more score before halftime. Hammond reeled off a 91-yard touchdown run with 1:43 remaining in the second quarter. The extra point made the score 44-7, which was the score at halftime.
Caden Alfson had a 10-yard touchdown run with just :09 remaining in the third quarter. After the made extra point, the Trojans led 51-7. That was the final score of the game.
