Titans Take Volleyball Match over Trojans

The West Central Trojan volleyball team traveled to Mt Vernon to play the Mt Vernon/Plankinton Titans on Thursday, October 17th.  The Titans won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-8.

Mt Vernon/Plankinton took an early 5-2 lead to start the first set.  They were able to maintain that lead throughout the entire set.  The Titans extended their lead to a set-high 11 points, 16-5.  The Trojans did rally to get within three points, 19-16, but the Titans finished the set on a 6-3 run for the 25-19 win.

After an early 1-1 tie to start the second set, Mt Vernon/Plankinton went on a 9-2 run to take a 10-3 advantage.  The lead grew to eight points, 17-9.  West Central cut the deficit to five points, 20-15, but the lead was too big.  The Titans won the second set 25-17.

The momentum from the first two sets carried into the third set.  The Titans started the set with an 8-1 run and cruised from there.  Their lead grew to 17-4 and 21-6 before taking the win 25-8.
