Trojan Volleyball Falls to Huskies

The West Central Trojan volleyball team fell to the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Tuesday, September 9th.  The Huskies won by scores of 25-14, 18-25, 25-16, and 25-9.

An early 4-1 lead for the Huskies gave them enough momentum to win the first set.  They extended their lead to 12-7 and then to 18-10 before winning 25-14.  After a 2-2 tie to start the second set, West Central went ahead 9-6.  They pushed their lead to 19-13.  Elk Point-Jefferson cut the lead to 21-17, but the Trojans ended the set on a 4-1 run for a 25-18 win.

Elk Point-Jefferson started the third set with a 4-1 lead.  They pushed the lead to 8-3 before West Central pulled within two, 9-7.  That was as close as the Trojans would get.  The Huskies went ahead 20-12 before winning 25-16.  West Central started the fourth set with a 2-1 lead, but the Elk Point-Jefferson went on a big run.  They scored the next 14 points for a 15-2 lead and finished the match with a 25-9 win.

Dawson Garry had nine kills and a block.  Madi Ingalls finished with eight kills, eight digs, and eight set assists.  Ella Harden added five kills.  Cambree Ideker had 13 set assists, five digs, and three kills.  Landry Heath also had five digs.
