West Central 16U used a fifth inning rally to help them to a 6-4 road win over Madison Black on Monday, July 8th.
After two scoreless innings, both teams scored a run in the third inning for a 1-1 score. Madison took the lead, 2-1, with a run in the bottom of the fourth. West Central then rallied for five runs in the top of the fifth for a 6-2 lead. Madison scored two times in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 6-4, but neither team scored the rest of the game.
Keaton Vessells had a double and triple with three RBIs. CJ DenBoer added two singles. JT Steckley finished with a single and an RBI. Nick Lorang and Taten VanOverbeke each had a single. Zach Lorang added an RBI. Anthony Lanham pitched four innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits and six walks with five strikeouts. Jerrico Klein pitched three innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
