West Central 16U Stays Unbeaten with Two More League Tournament Wins

The West Central 16U baseball team picked up two more wins at the I-29 League Tournament in Humboldt on Saturday, June 15th and Sunday, June 16th to remain undefeated.  They picked up wins against Garretson and Madison Maroon.

West Central 12, Garretson 0

In their game on Saturday, West Central scored in the first four innings while two pitchers combined to hold Garretson to just two hits total.  West Central scored two runs in the top of the first, six in the second, two in the third, and then two more in the fourth inning in their win.

Hayes Cain and CJ DenBoer both had two hits and two RBIs each.  Zach Lorang had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.  Keaton Vessells added a double and two RBIs.  Anthony Lanham had a single and an RBI.  Alex Siemonsma and Langdon Klinkhammer both had a hit.  Lanham pitched three innings and allowed a walk with three strikeouts.  Jerrico Klein pitched two innings and allowed two hits with three strikeouts.

West Central 2, Madison Maroon 0

Runs were at a premium in the game against Madison Maroon.  West Central scored both of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Klinkhammer had an RBI single, and Z Lorang scored later in the inning for the two runs.

Klinkhammer had a single and an RBI.  Vessells and Z. Lorang both had two hits each, and both with a double.  Cain, DenBoer, Nick Lorang, and Taten VanOverbeke all had one hit each.  Lanham pitched seven innings and allowed four hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.
