Early Runs for Gamecocks Lead to Win

The Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks scored four early runs to lead them to an 8-1 win over Salem at home on Thursday, June 13th.

The Gamecocks scored two runs in each of the first two innings for a 4-0 lead. Salem got their lone run in the top of the third inning.  Humboldt/Hartford scored a run in the fifth, and then added to their lead with two more runs in the bottom of the seventh and one in the eighth.

Joe Hanisch had three hits, including a home run and double, and three RBIs.  Cam Quigley also had three hits, one a triple, and an RBI.  Chad Morrison had a single and home run with two RBIs.  Loren Jacobson had a single and an RBI.  Broc Haldeman had two hits, one a double.  Ryan Healy also had two hits.  Devon Garry finished with a single, and Jonah Rechtenbaugh had an RBI.

Nate Masloski pitched five innings and allowed an earned run on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  Briggs Havlik pitched four innings and allowed two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
