The West Central Trojan boys track team had a third place finish as a team with 52 points at the state track meet in Sioux Falls held Thursday, May 23rd through Saturday, May 25th. The girls team finished 16th overall with 15 points.
Sadie Berg finished sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:00.62 and seventh in the 200m dash at :27.18. Abbi Thornton was sixth in in the long jump with a jump of 16’5.5″. The 4x200m relay team of Avery Pressler, Rayna Goehring, Berg, and Baylee Poss took third with a time oof 1:48.52. The 4x100m relay team of Pressler, Thornton, Molly Anderson, and Poss finished eighth in :51.76.
Liam Schmeichel won the 110m hurdles in a time of :14.68 and placed fifth in the 300m hurdles in :41.31. Jude Jarding won the 400m dash in :48.32 and took third in the 200m dash with a time of :23.38. Layton Johnson was eighth in the 100m dash at :12.94. Crew Heier was eighth in the shot put with a throw of 46’8″. The 4x100m relay team of Rylee Hartung, Ben Vuong, Patrick Hammond, and Jarding finished second in :43.50. The 4x200m relay team of Hartung, Elliot DeJong, Hammond, and Jarding was second with a time of 1:30.44. The sprint medley relay team finished sixth, and the 4x400m relay team placed eighth.
