The West Central Trojan boys and girls wrestling teams had a great state tournament. The teams competed in the 2024 South Dakota Wrestling Championships in Sioux Falls February 22nd through 24th. The boys team placed fourth overall with 127.0 points. The girls team finished with 6.0 points.
Chandler Carda finished as the runner-up in the 157-pound division with three wins. Keaton Vessells finished third in the 150-pound class with a 4-1 record. Rayce Whiting was also third in the 165-pound class with a 5-1 record. Chet Carda placed third in the 215-pound division with four wins. Gavin Pischke took third in the 285-pound class with a 4-1 record.
Kaden Haakinson (106) finished sixth with a 3-3 record. Bentley Klinkhammer (113) was seventh with three wins. Karson Vessells (126) also placed seventh with three wins. Langdon Klinkhammer (138) took seventh as well with three wins.
Gabe Gebhard (190) had one win. Chaz Carda (175) also participated in the tournament.
Allison Foote took sixth place with two wins. Hailey Fortney finished seventh with three wins. Kyliegh Schuller had one win at the tournament.
