The West Central Trojan wrestling team won the Region 1A Wrestling Tournament held in Tea on Saturday, February 17th. West Central had 223.5 points. Tea Area took second with 217.0 points, and Watertown was third with 174.0 points.
Bentley Klinkhammer won the 113-pound class with three wins. Chandler Carda took first in the 157-pound division with two wins. Chet Carda won the 215-pound class with three wins. Kaden Haakinson was second in the 106-pound division with a 2-1 record. Langdon Klinkhammer also took second in the 138-pound class with two wins. Keaton Vessells finished second in the 150-pound class with a 2-1 record. Gavin Pischke placed second in the 285-pound division with a 2-1 record. Karson Vessells placed third in the 126-pound class with a 3-1 record. Rayce Whiting was third in the 165-pound division with a 3-1 record. Chaz Carda finished fourth in the 175-pound division with a 2-2 record. Gabe Gebhard was also fourth in the 190-pound class with two wins.
Jesse Jost (144) was fifth with a 2-2 record. Alex Siemonsma (120) finished sixth with a 1-3 record.
