The West Central Trojan girls got back into the win column after a 48-39 road victory against the Canton C-Hawks on Tuesday, February 13th.
West Central had the lead at the end of every quarter break. They held an 11-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Their defensive pressure helped them extend the lead to 25-15 by halftime. Canton cut the lead in half in the third quarter and trailed 34-29 going into the final quarter. West Central, however, stopped any C-Hawk rally to hold for the win.
Mara Schultz had 17 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Kacey Jaton finished with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jazelle Jarding had six points, but also had 13 steals and four rebounds. Abbi Thornton ended with five points and four rebounds.
