Expectations High for West Central Trojan Boys Basketball Team

Expectations for the West Central Trojan boys basketball team will be high in 2023-2024 according to head coach Jacob Sittig.  The Trojans will feature five seniors this year and will look to improve on last year’s 11-11 overall record.

West Central will be led by seniors Brodie Herr, Crew Heier, Trevin Price, and junior Carter Tetzlaff.  Newcomers Jake Kuhl (senior) and Will Kuhl (sophomore), transfer students from Irene-Wakonda, as well as senior Paden Schulte and freshman Connor Mebius will also provide leadership for the Trojans.

The Trojans will have a lot of size and could potentially have a line of 6’1, 6’4, 6’4, 6’8, and 7’0 on the court at the same time.

“The goal will be to dominate the boards on both sides of the floor and use the size to play inside to out,” said Sittig.  “We will still need to find playmakers on the perimeter who can make something happen.  WE will still look to play fast on the offensive end of the floor to create and gain big advantages.  This team, however, should be more equipped to play in the half court as well.”

West Central starts the season at home against Dak-12 and Region 3A foe Dell Rapids on Friday, December 8th.
