Both Girls and Boys Trojan Cross Country Teams Qualify for State

Both the girls and the boys West Central Trojan cross country teams qualified for state after placing in the top three as a team at the Region 2A meet at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, October 11th.  The girls team placed third with 54 points.  The boys team placed second with 38 points.

Five of the six runners for the girls team placed in the top 20.  Aubrey Borns (11th) had a time of 20:01.40.  Brooklyn Sundermann (14th) finished in 20:04.70.  Lucy Rozeboom (15th) completed in 20:05.50.  Sara Johnson (19th) had a time of 20:14.90.  Maelee Krempges (19th) had a time of 20:16.00, and Drew Caffrey (26th) finished in 21:37.90.

The boys team had two top five finishers and four top 20 finishers.  Benjamin Strunk placed second individually with a time of 16:13.80.  Jonathon Roth was fourth in a time of 16:40.80.  Peyton Tetzlaff (12th) had a time of 17:35.10.  Kade Hruby (20th) finished in 18:08.00.  Jacob Peterson (22nd) completed in 18:26.90, and Kyper Hilger (24th) had a time of 18:47.50.

The 2023 South Dakota State A Cross Country meet will be in Sioux Falls at Yankton Trail Park on Saturday, October 21st.
