West Central Girls and Boys Soccer Teams Finish Regular Season

Both the West Central Trojan girls and boys soccer teams finished their regular season at home on Thursday, September 28th.  The girls team hosted the Mitchell Kernals, and the boys team hosted Dakota Valley.

The girls team suffered their fifth loss of the season falling to the 13-1-0 Kernals by a final score of 4-0.  The Trojans finished the regular season with an 8-5-1 record.

The boys team ended their regular season with a draw against the Panthers.  Dakota Valley scored a goal in the first half for a 1-0 halftime lead.   The Panthers would score another goal in the second half, but West Central put two in net in the second half for a 2-2 draw.  West Central finishes their regular season with an 0-12-2 record, both draws coming against Dakota Valley.

The top eight teams in Class A for both the boys and girls will qualify for the playoffs.  The West Central girls team is currently the fourth seed and will secure a playoff spot.  The playoffs begin on Tuesday, October 3rd.  The boys team, however, is currently the 11th seed and a full seed point behind St Thomas More, the eighth seed.
