West Central Boys Return 11 State Qualifiers

The West Central Trojan boys track team had a very good year in 2022.  The team finished seventh at the state meet, the 4x200m relay team broke a school record, and 17 individuals qualified for state.  The 2023 team will have 11 of those state qualifiers back this season.

“We were one spot away from the podium at the state meet in 2022.  Our goal as a team is to reach the top six in State A.  We have a very dedicated team this year that has been working hard despite the weather outside,” said head coach Brian Voss.

The Trojans will be led by seniors Carson Berens, Mason Berens, Xzavian Ferris, Curtis Froke, Kamden Knutsen, Alex Lillefloren, Abaram Maras, Wyatt Nielsen, Carter Schmeichel, Griffin Stallman, Dylan Stromer, and Justin Zirpel.  Jude Jarding, Layton Johnson, Benjamin Strunk, and Liam Schmeichel will also be key members to this year’s team.

“We are excited as a team to see what we can accomplish this year,” added Voss.
