The West Central Trojans (10-9) extended their winning streak to four games after a 66-47 win over the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars on Saturday, February 18th.
The Trojans built a big lead in the first quarter and never looked back. West Central led 24-8 by the end of the first quarter. The Fighting Cougars kept pace with West Central in the second quarter, but the Trojans still led 38-23 at halftime. West Central pushed their lead to over 20 points in the second half while outscoring McCook Central/Montrose 28-24 in the final two quarters of the game.
Three players finished in double figures. Crew Heier had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Carter Schmeichel had 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Brodie Herr finished with 10 points and four rebounds. Connor Eich ended with seven points. Owen Heath had six points and four rebounds. Carter Tetzlaff also had six points. Dylan Stromer had two points and seven rebounds.
