Trojan Girls Extend Winning Streak to Six Games

The West Central Trojans (10-7) extended their winning streak to six games after a 58-49 road win at the Sioux Valley Cossacks on Thursday, February 9th.

The Cossacks scored the first five points of the game and led 5-0 with 5:30 to play in the first quarter.  West Central, however, ended the first quarter with a 15-13 lead.  The Trojans held the lead throughout the second quarter and led 29-22 at halftime.  They were able to get a comfortable lead after a big third quarter.  West Central outscored the Cossascks 14-5 in the quarter for a 45-27 lead.  Sioux Valley got within eight points, 52-44, with 1:13 to go in the game, but that was as close as they would get.

Three players finished in double figures.  Molli Thornton had 17 points, two rebounds, two assists, and six steals.  Jazelle Jarding added 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Cambell Fischer finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.  Molly Anderson ended with four points, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
