Trojan Girls Race Past Madison

The West Central Trojans (7-7) evened their record with a 64-31 home win over the Madison Bulldogs on Friday, February 3rd.  The Trojans defense helped spark the offense by forcing 23 Bulldog turnovers, 13 of those on steals.

The Trojans built a 25-13 lead at the end of the first quarter and then held Madison to just four points in the second quarter.  West Central took a 40-17 lead to the locker room at halftime.  The defense continued to cause problems for the Bulldogs as West Central held Madison to just 14 second-half points.

West Central shot 43% (23-53) overall in the game, 37% (10-27) on three-point attempts, and 8-9 from the free-throw line.  Madison shot just 24% (11-46) overall, 29% (4-14) on three-point shots, and 5-7 from the free-throw line.

Molli Thornton finished with 15 points, four rebounds, and four steals.  Tessa VanOverbeke added 12 points, two assists, and two steals.  Cambell Fischer had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.  Jaci Travis ended with eight poitns, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Biz Johnson had six points, and Jazelle Jarding had five points and six rebounds.
