West Central Boys Win Third Straight

The West Central Trojans (6-7) won their third straight game after a 55-45 win over the Tri-Valley Mustangs at home on Tuesday, January 31st.

The win didn’t come easy as the Mustangs had a lead in the second quarter.  West Central led 9-6 at the end of the first quarter, but Tri-Valley took the lead in the second and led 18-16 at halftime.  The Trojans went on a run in the third quarter and led 39-33 heading into the fourth.  Tri-Valley put together a 6-1 run to get within a point, 40-39, but West Central held the Mustangs to just six more points the rest of the game to hang on for the win.

West Central shot 33% overall in the game, 22% from three-point area, and 59% from the free-throw line.  The Mustangs were 39% shooting overall, 17% on three-point attempts, and 73% from the free-throw line.

Brodie Herr had 13 points six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Carter Schmeichel ended with 11 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a steal.  Dylan Stromer finished with nine points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Erik Seten added eight points and three rebounds.
