The Tri-Valley Maroon 16U team only trailed 3-0 through five innings of play. Then came the sixth inning, and Dell Rapids turned a 3-0 lead into a 13-1 win on Tuesday, July 11th.
Dell Rapids scored one run in the top of the first and two more in the second for the 3-0 lead. The score stayed there until the top of the sixth inning. Dell Rapids scored 10 times in the top of the inning to go ahead 13-0. Tri-Valley got one run in the bottom of the sixth on a steal of home by Brody Dybvig.
Tri-Valley only had two hits in the game. Dybvig and Carter Sorenson each had a single. Sorenson pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed six runs, three earned, on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts. Tristen Bunde pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed seven earned runs on six hits and three walks with one strikeout.
