The Tri-Valley Maroon 14U baseball team rallied for four runs late in the game for a 7-4 win over Sioux Falls Christian at home on Tuesday, June 27th.
Each team scored two runs in the first inning. Sioux Falls Christian scored two more runs in the top of the second for a 4-2 lead. Treyson Richter had a ground ball that scored a run in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 4-3. Tri-Valley took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Cooper Nielsen scored on a passed ball, Jaxson Rise had an RBI single, and Rise then scored on a passed ball for a 6-4 lead. Parker Atwood scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth for an insurance run.
Rise and Lawson Schneiderman both had a single and an RBI. Nielsen, Ricther, and Atwood all had one hit each. Ricther pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on five walks with two strikeouts. Schneiderman pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
