Tri-Valley Boys Start Season in Parkston

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys basketball team started their 2024-2025 season on the road in Parkston on Friday, December 13th.  The Trojans gave the Mustangs a 63-56 setback.

The Mustangs started the first quarter on a 7-1 run.  Parkston answered with a 9-3 run of their own to go in front 10-9.  Tri-Valley, however, would end the first quarter with a 14-13 lead.  Parkston would take the lead in the second quarter and have a 33-27 advantage at halftime.  The Mustangs started the third quarter on an 8-3 run to get within a point, 36-35.  The Trojans, however, answered with an 11-0 run to go in front 47-35.  Parkston led 50-39 going into the fourth quarter.  Tri-Valley couldn’t overcome that run as Parkston held off the Mustangs.

Tri-Valley shot 32% (21-66) overall from the field, 31% (11-35) on three-point attempts, and 3-5 from the free-throw line.  Parkston finished the game shooting 40% (23-57) overall, 24% (4-17) from the three-point area, and 45% (13-29) from the free-throw line.

Teagin Gacke had 19 points and four rebounds.  Brady Jewett finished with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.  Aiden Bunde added seven points and four rebounds.  Tristen Bunde had six points and six rebounds.
