Tri-Valley Baseball Falls in Defensive Battle

Runs were at a premium in a high school baseball game between Tri-Valley and Sioux Falls Christian on Friday, May 10th.  Both pitching staffs were strong combining for a total of 15 strikeouts.  Sioux Falls Christian broke through in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI double after a one-out triple to take a 1-0 lead.

Tri-Valley threatened to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning, or even take the lead.  Nathan Madison started the seventh with a single.  After a strikeout, Brechen Frederick had a single, and Cyrus Kirstein had a single to load the bases with just one out.  Cody Lofswold hit a flyout to deep second, and then Madison was tagged out at home plate to end the game trying to score the tying run after tagging up on the fly ball.

Madison finished with two hits.  Alex Wingen, Frederick, and Kirstein all had one hit each.  Tristen Bunde pitched seven innings in the 1-0 loss allowing one earned run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
