Strong Defense and Hot Outside Shooting Leads to Mustang Girls Win

A combination of strong defense and hot shooting from three-point area helped the Tri-Valley Mustangs to a 58-39 win over the Deubrook Area Dolphins on Tuesday, January 21st.  The Mustangs had 19 steals on defense and nine made three point shot in the game.

Deubrook did take an 8-2 lead in the first four minutes of the game.  Tri-Valley finished the quarter with an 11-2 run for a 13-10 lead.  They extended their lead to 24-14 by halftime.  Tri-Valley outscored the Dolphins 18-17 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 32-31 going into the fourth quarter.  The Mustangs started the quarter for a 6-0 run to make the score 48-31.  They continued to roll the rest of the game for the win.

Hailey Sorenson had 17 points and five steals.  Mattie Huwe added 11 points and two steals.  Emry Jones had eight points.  Maddie Wenzel had six points and four steals.  Izzy Davey ended with five points, three rebounds, and two steals.
