The Tri-Valley Mustang wrestling team is looking forward to the upcoming season. They finished 10-8 in duals last year. The Mustangs also won the Jesse James Invite and finished second at the Tri-Valley tournament. Tri-Valley will look to build on that momentum this season.
Thirty wrestlers will be a part of the team this season. The team returns six wrestlers that qualified for state last year. Cole Hendrixson (2nd), Treyson Richter, Brechen Frederick, Brody Dybvig, Landyn Reiser, and Isaac Nehlich (5th) all return with state tournament experience. Seniors Cody Lofswold, Everett Althoff, Nathaniel Kontz, Remmington Ludens, Cyrus Kirstein, and Nehlich will provide leadership for the team. Owen Bunde and Connor Glasford are a couple of wrestlers to watch this season.
“We are a young team and are working hard to get better every day. We will be looking to fill all 14 weight classes with a young and experienced squad ready to compete and improve on our previous season,” said head coach Mike Gibson.
The Mustangs will start the season at the Dell Rapids Tournament on Saturday, December 2nd.
