Second Half Run Leads Lennox over Mustang Girls

The Lennox Orioles used a second half run to earn a 57-49 win over the Tri-Valley Mustangs on Thursday, February 8th.

Tri-Valley held a 14-9 lead late in the first quarter, but Lennox finished the quarter on a 6-0 run for a 15-14 lead.  Each team had a lead in the second quarter, but the Orioles led 22-21 at halftime.  The Mustangs scored the first four points of the third quarter to grab a 25-22 lead.  After the game was tied 31-31, Lennox outscored Tri-Valley 10-4 for a 41-35 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The Mustangs were not able to a long enough rally in the fourth quarter as Lennox held for the win.

Tri-Valley shot 35% (17-48) from the field, 35% (7-20) from three-point area, and 8-10 from the free-throw line.  Lennox finished the game shooting 34% (17-50) overall, 38% (9-24) on three-point attempts, and 74% (14-19) from the free-throw line.

Elizabeth Davey had 19 points, six rebounds, and two assists in the game.  Mattie Huwe had eight points and two assists.  Lauren Grinde added six points, five rebounds, and six assists.  Madelyn Wenzel also had six points with three assists, and five steals.  Abigail Wagner also ended with six points.  Hilary Hastings had four points and four rebounds.
