Second Half Key to Dakota Valley Win over Mustang Girls

The Tri-Valley Mustangs were within two points at halftime against the Dakota Valley Panthers on Friday, January 19th.  The Panthers got enough separation in the second half for a 55-45 victory.

Dakota Valley built a five-point lead by the end of the first quarter, 17-12.  Tri-Valley cut the lead to two points, 21-19, by halftime.  The Panthers outscored Tri-Valley 16-9 in the third quarter for a 37-28 lead going into the final quarter.

The Mustangs shot 33% (16-49) overall in the game, 33% (7-21) from three-point area, and 6-9 from the free-throw line.  The Panthers finished the game shooting 33% (18-54) overall, 22% (4-18) from three-point area, and 75% (15-20) from the free-throw line.

Elizabeth Davey had nine points and two steals.  Lauren Grinde had eight points, four rebounds, and two assists.  Mattie Huwe also had eight points.  Madelyn Wenzel finished with five points and five rebounds.
