Season Comes to End for Mustang Boys in Region 3A Tournament

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys had their 2024-2025 season come to an end in Dell Rapids in the opening round of the Region 3A tournament on Thursday, March 6th.  The Quarriers led from start to finish in a 58-30 win.

Dell Rapids made a three-point shot to start the game, and Tri-Valley cut the lead to 3-2, but that was as close as they would get in the game.  Dell Rapids went on an 11-0 run for a 14-2 lead.  They ended the first quarter leading 19-8.  The Mustangs were held scoreless for almost seven minutes in the second quarter allowing Dell Rapids to extend their lead.  The Quarriers led 34-11 at halftime.  Dell Rapids pushed the lead to 45-21 by the end of the third quarter.

Tri-Valley shot just 26% (12-47) overall, 16% (4-25) from three-point area, and 2-3 from the free-throw line.  Dell Rapids finished the game shooting 49% (23-47) overall, 38% (6-16) on three-point shots, and 6-10 from the free-throw line.

Landon Hughes had 10 points and four rebounds in the game.  Brady Jewett finished with seven points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Ty Oyen had six points, five rebounds, and two assists.   Teagin Gacke ended with three points.  Tristen Bunde had two points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Kobe Krome also had two points.

The Mustangs finish the season with a 4-17 overall record.
