The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team opened the 2025 season on the road at Garretson on Tuesday, August 26th. The Mustangs came home with a straight-set sweep of the Blue Dragons by scores of 25-16, 25-10, and 25-20.
Tri-Valley opened the match with a 4-0 run and maintained their lead throughout the first set. They led 10-6 before slowly starting to pull away. The Mustangs led 19-14 before finishing the set on a 6-2 run. That momentum carried into the second set. Tri-Valley started on an 8-1 run and never looked back. They lead grew to 16-5, then 22-8, before finishing on 25-10.
The third set went back-and-forth. The two teams were tied 4-4 and 6-6. Tri-Valley took a small 10-8 lead, but Garretson tied the score 11-11. The Blue Dragons then went ahead 13-11. They led 15-14, but Tri-Valley then went on a 4-0 run for an 18-15 lead. That run kept the Mustangs in front the rest of the match. They continued to lead by three points, 23-20, before scoring the final two points of the match.
Tri-Valley will travel to Dakota Valley on Tuesday, September 2nd for their next match.
