The Tri-Valley Mustang track team had 17 athletes qualify for the state meet with three more as alternates last season. The Mustangs return 13 of those 20 athletes this season. Of those 13 that have state meet experience, six of those are seniors.
The girls team will be led by seniors Hillary Hastings, Lauren Grinde, Savanna King, Hailey McNamara, Julia Mauszycki, and Samantha Carlson. The boys team will be led by seniors Eli McFarland, Carter Sorenson, Isaac Nehlich, Troy Nebelsick, Isaac Langloss, and Hayden Hastings.
“The competition and excitement seen at practice since day one is showing signs of a fun year. Mostly all of them are multi-sport athletes, so they have a sturdy foundation of athleticism,” said head coach Zachary Schroeder.
The Mustangs are scheduled to have their first meet of the season on Monday, April 8th in Hartford.
