Mustang Softball Returns Strong Core to Lineup in 2025

The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team is coming off a sixth place finish at the 2024 South Dakota State A Softball a year ago and a 14-9 season.  The Mustangs this year will be led by a talented and experienced group of seniors who have played a pivotal role in the success of the program.

“Their leadership, both on and off the field, has been instrumental in guiding our younger players and setting the foundation for future success,” said head coach Samantha Van Asselt.

This year’s seniors are Reagan Pearson (2024 All-State selection), Emery Pearson, Izzy Davey (2024 All-State and 2nd team All-Conference), Keagan Kuchta, McKenzie Mack, and Savannah Schulte.  The seniors will be joined by Emry Jones (1st team All-Conference and All-Tournament team), Kadence Davey (2nd team All-Conference), Ava Christensen (All-State Honorable Mention), and Syenna Halverson.

The Mustangs have 31 players on the JV and varsity rosters.

“This motivated and hard-working group is eager to compete, improve, and make an impact on the field.  Our focus this season is simple – take one game at a time, learn from every success and setback, and build on last year’s achievements.  With a strong returning core and a dedicated team, the Mustangs are ready for an exciting season ahead,” added Van Asselt.
