Lennox Defeats Mustang Boys from Free-Throw Line

The Lennox Orioles got a hard-fought, 64-57 win over the Tri-Valley Mustangs on Thursday, February 20th.  The Orioles won the game with the difference at the free-throw line.  Lennox shot 20-23 overall in the game while Tri-Valley had just four free-throw attempts, making all four.

The Mustangs had the lead at the end of the first quarter.  Brady Jewett had a three-point shot at the buzzer to put Tri-Valley in front 17-16.  The Mustangs extended their lead to 27-18 early in the second quarter.  Lennox cut the lead to 32-28 by halftime.

The Orioles used a big third quarter to take the lead.  Lennox outscored Tri-Valley 23-11 in the quarter for a 51-43 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The Mustangs rallied to cut the lead down to one point, 56-55, but Lennox finished the game with an 8-2 run to secure the win.

Tri-Valley shot 46% (21-46) overall in the game and 44% (11-25) from three-point area.  Lennox finished the game shooting 40% (20-50) overall and just 20% (4-20) from three-point area.  Lennox also had a 33-16 rebounding advantage in the game.

Jewett finished with 18 points, three rebounds, and three assists.  Alex Wingen added 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Teagin Gacke had 10 points and three rebounds.  Kobe Krome ended with seven points, and Landon Hughes had four points.  Ty Oyen had two points, three rebounds, and four assists.
