Chargers Earn Home Match Win over Tri-Valley

The Tri-Valley Mustangs traveled to Sioux Falls Christian for volleyball action against the Chargers on Thursday, October 17th.  The Chargers won in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-11.

The opening set started with a 3-3 tie.  The Chargers pulled away early for an 8-4 lead.  Tri-Valley kept it close and was within a point at 16-15.  Sioux Falls Christian was able to extend the lead back to four points, 22-18, and then scored the final three points for a 25-18 win.

Sioux Falls Christian took a quick 5-1 lead to start the second set.  They extended the lead to 12-5.  The Mustangs would fight back.  They cut the lead down to five points, 21-16, but the Chargers finished the set on a 4-1 run for a 25-17 win.  Sioux Falls Christian took an early 7-4 lead to start the third set.  Tri-Valley was still within three points, 9-6, but the Chargers went on a 9-0 run for an 18-6 lead.  Sioux Falls Christian finished the match with a 7-3 run for the 25-11 score.

Madelyn Wenzel finished with five kills.  Emery Pearson also had five kills.  Cheyenne Hanson had nine digs and an ace serve.  Macey Boese added eight digs.  Abigail Wagner tallied seven set assists, and Emily Wenzel had five set assists.
