Bearcats Rally in Fourth to Beat Mustang Boys

The Tri-Valley Mustangs (3-10) fell victim to a fourth quarter rally by the Freeman Academy/Marion Bearcats on Saturday, February 4th.  The Bearcats earned a 64-56 come-from-behind win at Tri-Valley High School.

The Bearcats made the first run of the game and led 21-11 at the end of the first quarter.  The Mustangs rallied in the second and third quarters to build themselves a lead.  Tri-Valley cut the lead to 31-29 by halftime and then took a 50-44 lead into the fourth quarter.  The Bearcats started the fourth quarter on a 12-1 run and held the Mustangs to just six points in the final quarter for the win.

Tri-Valley shot 38% (19-50) from the field overall, 32% (7-22) from three-point area, and 79% (11-14) from the free-throw line.  Freeman Academy/Marion was 50% (20-50) shooting overall, 38% (8-21) on three-point attempts, and 73% (16-22) from the free-throw line.

Logan Ellison had 16 points for Tri-Valley.  Trey Johnson finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds.  Noah Haynes added 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists.  Alex Wingen also had 10 points with three rebounds.  Carter Sorenson ended with six points.
