The Tri-Valley Maroon 14U team won both games of a doubleheader against the Harrisburg Tigers 13U Black team on Tuesday, July 7th.
Tri-Valley 11, Harrisburg 5
Harrisburg scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning, but Tri-Valley then scored the next seven. Tri-Valley took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the first. They added two more in the second and another two in the third for a 7-1 lead. Harrisburg scored a run in the top of the fourth. Tri-Valley responded with four in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 11-2. The Tigers would get two runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth.
B. Williams had three hits, two of them doubles, and an RBI. C. Zenk had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. P. Amundson had a single and double. T. Sorenson added a double with two RBIs. B. McMillen also had a double with an RBI. J. Samuelson had a single and an RBI. N. Campbell and L. Gacke each had a hit, and A. Kraft had an RBI.
Tri-Valley 9, Harrisburg 1
Tri-Valley broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the second on their way to the 9-1 win in the second game. They scored three times in the inning for a 4-1 lead. Tri-Valley would go on to score a run in the third, a run in the fourth, and three more in the fifth in the win.
Zenk had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Sorenson also had two hits with an RBI. Thompson finished with a home run and two RBIs. Williams and Samuelson each had a hit with an RBI. Gacke ended with a single, and McMillen added an RBI.
