Tri-Valley 14U White Splits Two Games in Sioux Falls

The Tri-Valley 14U White team split two games in the SEBA League in Sioux Falls on Monday, June 22nd.  Tri-Valley defeated the Tea Lightning but lost to the WC Trojans.

Tri-Valley 13, Tea 12

Tri-Valley rallied late in a back-and-forth offensive battle for a win over Tea.  Each team scored a run in the first inning.  Tri-Valley scored three in the top of the second, but Tea took the lead 7-4 with six runs in the bottom of the second.  Tri-Valley picked up a run in the third.  Tea added two more in the bottom of the inning to extend the lead to 9-5.  Tri-Valley added two more runs in the top of the inning, but Tea got another run in the bottom of the fourth.  A big top of the fifth was key for Tri-Valley’s win.  They scored six runs to take a 13-10 lead.  Tea scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, but Tri-Valley stopped any more of a rallly.

Noah Ketterling had three hits and an RBI.  Jude Ellis and Aiden Gunderson each had two singles and an RBI.  Isaiah Aluong had two singles.  Dom Luening finished with a home run and an RBI.  Callen Althoff had a double and an RBI.  Tristan Smith had a single with an RBI.  Carson Hoenisch had a hit, and Trig Tietgen ended with an RBI.

WC Trojans 10, Tri-Valley 2

The WC Trojans broke a 2-2 tie in the third on their way to the win.  Each team had two runs in the first inning.  WC Trojans had a five-run top of the third.  They would add three more runs in the top of the fifth.

Tri-Valley was held to just three hits.  Ellis had a single with an RBI.  Luening and Althoff both had one hit each.
