The Tri-Valley Mustang boys wrestling team sent wrestlers to both Volga and Elk Point on Saturday, December 20th. The team at the Cossack Avalanche Tournament in Volga finished eighth with 66 points. The team at the EPJ Huskies Invitational placed third with 125 points.
Cossack Avalanche Results
Major Richter placed second in the 165-pound class with a 3-1 record. Jaxton Rinehart (138) finished fourth with a 4-2 record. Elliot Powell (285) also placed fourth with a 2-2 record. Breckyn Reiser (144) and Jackson Williams (157) both finished 2-2. Cooper Swier (132), Destry Wilking (138), and Devin Miller (175) all were 1-2 on the day. William Richter (120), Xander Sharpe (126), Will Sly (144), Jesse Swartwout (150), Will Winter (190), and Zachary Sharpe (190) all finished 0-2.
EPJ Huskies Invitational Results
Connor Glassford won the 126-pound class with a 3-0 record. Owen Bunde took the top spot in the 132-pound class with four wins. Legend Frederick placed third in the 113-pound weight class with a 4-1 record. Chase King (106) and Treyson Richter (157) both placed fifth with 2-2 records. Brody Dybvig (190) and Luke Nehlich (285) were both sixth with 2-3 records. Cole Hendrixson (150) also placed sixth with an 0-3 record. Owen Effling (165) finished with one win for the day.
