Mustang Volleyball Falls to Madison in Region 3A

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team saw their 2025 season come to an end in the opening round of the Region 3A Tournament on Tuesday, November 4th.  The #5 seeded Mustangs traveled to #4 Madison, and the Bulldogs took the win in four sets by scores of 19-25, 25-23, 25-17 and 25-22.

Tri-Valley was able to get on a run in the middle portion of the opening set.  The Mustangs took an early 3-2 lead, but Madison tied the score at 5-5.  The teams were tied again at 8-8.  Tri-Valley then went on a 7-2 to take a 15-10 advantage.  They were able to extend that lead to 19-12 and ride that momentum to a 25-19 opening set win.

Madison was able to shake off the first set and start the second set with an 8-0 run.  Tri-Valley rallied for seven straight points to pull within one, 8-7.  After the Bulldogs extended their lead to 13-9, the Mustangs rallied again to get within two points at 14-12.  Each team went on little spurts at that point.  Madison went ahead 17-12, but the Mustangs responded to cut the lead to 20-17.   The Bulldogs were at set point, 24-18, but Tri-Valley scored fight straight points to get within one again, 24-23.  Madison, however, stopped the rally to win the second set 25-23.

The Mustangs started the third set with an early 3-1 run.  They continued to lead by scores of 5-4, 10-8, and 14-12.  The Bulldogs would go on a 4-1 run to jump ahead 16-15.  They continued to lead by a point, 18-17, before ending the set on a 7-0 run to take the win 25-17.

After an early 2-2 tie to start the fourth set, Tri-Valley took a 6-3 lead.  The Mustangs continued to stay in front at 8-6.  They would slowly build their lead to 12-7 and then to 17-10.  Tri-Valley looked to have the momentum and send the match into a fifth set as they went ahead 20-13.  Madison, however, put together a big rally cutting the lead to just one point, 22-21.  The Bulldogs then carried that momentum to four more straight points for a 25-22 win to take the match.

Tri-Valley finished the season with an overall record of 10-15.
