The Tri-Valley Mustang football season came to an end in the opening round of the 11A Playoffs on Thursday, October 30th. The Lennox Orioles advanced with a 49-22 win over the Mustangs.
Landyn Reiser gave Tri-Valley a lead in the opening quarter with a 15-yard touchdown run. Jackson Williams made the extra point to make the score 7-0. Lennox pulled within a point after a five-yard touchdown run. The extra point was missed making the score 7-6. Tri-Valley scored again on their next drive. Cole Hendrixson had an 11-yard touchdown run. Another made extra point by Willliams gave the Mustangs a 14-6 lead. The Orioles tied the game before the end of the first quarter on a 14-yard touchdown run and made two-point conversion.
The Mustangs offense was able to get deep into Lennox territory again and had a first and goal to go situation. The Lennox defense, however, was able to keep Tri-Valley out of the end zone and force a turnover on downs. That stop seemed to give the Orioles the momentum. They would score on a 73-yard run on a fourth down play of their own after that defensive stop. The extra point was no good, but Lennox led 20-14. They extended their lead before halftime with a nine-yard touchdown run and made two-point conversion. Lennox led 28-14 at halftime.
The Orioles kept rolling offensively in the third quarter. They added two more touchdowns. One was a one-yard run and the second score was a 62-yard touchdown pass. They converted one two-point try and led 42-14 going into the fourth quarter. Their final score came on a 41-yard run. The extra point was good giving them a 49-14 lead. Reiser scored his second rushing touchdown late in the game on a 23-yard run. Brady Jewett scored the two-point conversion to make the final 49-22.
The Mustangs finish the 2025 season with an overall record of 6-4.
