Lennox Ends Mustang Football Season in Quarterfinals

The Tri-Valley Mustang football season came to an end in the opening round of the 11A Playoffs on Thursday, October 30th.  The Lennox Orioles advanced with a 49-22 win over the Mustangs.

Landyn Reiser gave Tri-Valley a lead in the opening quarter with a 15-yard touchdown run.  Jackson Williams made the extra point to make the score 7-0.  Lennox pulled within a point after a five-yard touchdown run.  The extra point was missed making the score 7-6.  Tri-Valley scored again on their next drive.  Cole Hendrixson had an 11-yard touchdown run.  Another made extra point by Willliams gave the Mustangs a 14-6 lead.  The Orioles tied the game before the end of the first quarter on a 14-yard touchdown run and made two-point conversion.

The Mustangs offense was able to get deep into Lennox territory again and had a first and goal to go situation.  The Lennox defense, however, was able to keep Tri-Valley out of the end zone and force a turnover on downs.  That stop seemed to give the Orioles the momentum.  They would score on a 73-yard run on a fourth down play of their own after that defensive stop.  The extra point was no good, but Lennox led 20-14.  They extended their lead before halftime with a nine-yard touchdown run and made two-point conversion.  Lennox led 28-14 at halftime.

The Orioles kept rolling offensively in the third quarter.  They added two more touchdowns.  One was a one-yard run and the second score was a 62-yard touchdown pass.  They converted one two-point try and led 42-14 going into the fourth quarter.  Their final score came on a 41-yard run.  The extra point was good giving them a 49-14 lead.  Reiser scored his second rushing touchdown late in the game on a 23-yard run.  Brady Jewett scored the two-point conversion to make the final 49-22.

The Mustangs finish the 2025 season with an overall record of 6-4.
