Mustangs Drop Road Match in Canton

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team traveled to Canton on Tuesday, September 23rd.  The C-Hawks took the match in four sets by scores of 25-15, 26-24, 15-25, and 25-13.

An early lead for Canto helped them to the win in the first set.  They started with a 3-1 lead and also led 6-4 before going on a run.  They pushed their lead to 14-7 and then 21-10 before getting the 25-15 win.  The second set featured rallies by both teams.  Canton took the lead first at 8-4.  The Mustangs went on a 7-0 run to go in front 11-8.  The C-Hawks responded with an 8-2 lead to retake the lead 16-13.  Canton continued to hold a three-point lead at 20-17 and 22-19.  Tri-Valley cut the lead to 23-22 and then tied the score 24-24.  Canton, however, scored the final two points for a 26-24 win.

Tri-Valley carried some of the momentum into the third set from their near comeback in the second set.  The Mustangs started the set with a 5-3 lead and grew it to a 12-5 advantage.  Tri-Valley stayed in front the entire rest of the way.  They led 16-10 and 20-11 on their way to the 25-15 victory.  Canton, however, was able to regroup in the fourth set.  They started with a 4-2 lead and continued to lead by two-to-three points to an 11-8 score.  The C-Hawks then went on an 8-4 run to push their lead to 19-11.  That run was enough to take them to a 25-13 win.
