Elkton Runs Away from Tri-Valley 16U

Elkton scored in every inning and defeated Tri-Valley 11-1 on the ten-run rule on Thursday, July 1st in Elkton.

Tri-Valley held a short-lived 1-0 lead after scoring in the top of the first inning.  Kaden Egger scored on a wild pitch with one out in the inning.  Elkton then scored four times in the bottom of the first and four more in the bottom of the second.  They would then scored two in the bottom of the third and one more in the bottom of the fourth before getting Tri-Valley out in the top of the fifth to end the game.

Tri-Valley was held to just one a hit, a single by Egger.  Noah Haynes pitched three innings allowing 10 runs, six earned, on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout.  Everett Althoff pitched an inning allowing an unearned run on two hits.

Sioux Valley Scores Late, Defeats Tri-Valley 16U

Sioux Valley erased a three-run deficit by scoring eight straight runs for a 12-7 win over Tri-Valley 16U on Monday, June 28th.

Tri-Valley put together a big bottom of the first inning.  Noah Haynes and Beau Keith had RBI singles.  Tanner Van Asselt had a two-run single to give Tri-Valley a 4-0 lead.  Sioux Valley scored three in the top of the second inning to cut the lead to 4-3.   They then tied the game with a run in the top of the third.  Tri-Valley regained the lead in the bottom of the third.  Holden Rise had a two-run single, and Cole Focken scored on an error.  Tri-Valley led 7-4 after three innings.

Sioux Valley then went on a run.  They scored two runs in the top of the fourth, five more in the top of the fifth, and one run in the top of the seventh for the 12-7 win.

Haynes had two hits and an RBI.  Focken also had two hits.  Rise and Van Asselt both had a hit and two RBIs.  Keith had a hit and an RBI. 

Keith pitched four innings allowing six runs, one earned, on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts.  Focken pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing five earned runs on a hit with four walks.  Aidan Heitkamp pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing an unearned run.

Hamlin Defeats Tri-Valley 16U in Five Innings

Hamlin scored in every inning and defeated Tri-Valley 16U in five innings by a score of 13-3 on Thursday, June 24th.

Hamlin scored two runs in the bottom of the first, four in the bottom of the second, four in the bottom of the third, and three in the bottom of the fourth for their 13 runs.

Tri-Valley got a run in the top of the second when Everett Althoff scored on a wild pitch.  Cole Focken had an RBI single in the top of the third inning, and Kaden Egger scored on a passed ball in the top of the fourth inning for the three Tri-Valley runs.

Focken had two of the four Tri-Valley hits with an RBI.  Althoff had the other two hits.  Egger pitched two innings allowing six runs, three earned, on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts.  Aidan Heitkamp also pitched two innings allowing seven runs, three earned, on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Tri-Valley 16U Beats Parker in High-Scoring Game

Tri-Valley 16U had two six-run innings and overcame two six-run innings by Parker for a 17-13 win on Thursday, June 17th.

Parker scored the first six runs of the game in the top of the first inning without a hit, taking advantage of six walks and a hit batter.  Tri-Valley rallied for six runs in their half of the first inning.  Cole Focken had an RBI triple and later scored on a wild pitch, Noah Haynes had an RBI single, Mason Hendrixson had an RBI single, and Holden Rise had a two-run single.

Tri-Valley took the lead, 8-6, in the bottom of the second on a two-run single by Barrett Althoff.  Parker again had a six-run inning, this time in the top of the third.  They only had one hit in the inning and again took advantage of four walks and two errors.  Parker lead 12-8 heading into the bottom of the third, but Tri-Valley rallied again.  Tanner Van Asselt, Kaden Egger, and Focken all had an RBI single. B. Althoff brought home two runs on a single, and Haynes also had an RBI single to give Tri-Valley a 14-12 lead after three innings.  Tri-Valley scored three more times in the bottom of the fourth on a three-run triple by Egger.

Focken had four hits, including a double and a triple, with two RBIs.  B. Althoff had three hits and four RBIs.  Egger had three hits, one a triple, and four RBIs.  Haynes also had three hits and two RBIs.  Rise had two hits and two RBIs.  Van Asselt had two hits and an RBI.  Hendrixson had a hit and RBI.  Everett Althoff had two hits, including a double.

Lawson Loiseau allowed five earned runs on five walks.  E. Althoff pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing six runs, two earned, on no hits with four walks and three strikeouts.  Beau Keith pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs on two hits with five walks and 11 strikeouts.

Tri-Valley 16U Wins One of Three at I-29 League Tourney

The Tri-Valley 16U teener team played three games between Friday, June 11th and Saturday, June 12th in the I-29 League Tournament in Garretson.  Tri-Valley finished those three games with a record of 1-2.

Tri-Valley gave up four early runs to Garretson, and their rally fell short in the sixth inning as Garretson got a 5-4 win on Friday.

Garretson picked up a run in the bottom of the first.  Beau Keith drove home two runs with a single in the top of the third to give Tri-Valley a 2-1 lead.  Garretson scored three times in the bottom of the third to regain the lead, and then added another one in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 5-2.  Everett Althoff had an RBI double, and Noah Haynes scored on an error to cut the lead to 5-4.  Tri-Valley had the tying run thrown out at home for the second out of the inning.  A strikeout ended the game with the tying run on third.

Keith had two hits with two RBIs.  Haynes, Kaden Egger, and Barrett Althoff all had two hits.  E. Althoff had a double and an RBI.  Cole Focken and Mason Hendrixson both had a single.  Tanner Van Asselt had an RBI.  Egger pitched four innings allowing four earned runs on seven hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.  Keith pitched one inning allowing an unearned run with one walk and two strikeouts.

Tri-Valley scored eight runs in the middle innings to earn a 9-4 win over the Tea Bolts in their first game on Saturday.

Keith scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead.  Tea got single runs in the top of the second and third for a 2-1 lead, but Tri-Valley got five runs in the bottom of the third.  Haynes had a two-run single, and Brendan Newman had a three-run triple for a 6-2 lead.  They would score three more runs in the bottom of the fourth.  Two runs scored on an error, and Keith scored on a passed ball as Tri-Valley closed out the game for the win.

Newman had a triple with three RBIs.  Hendrixson had two hits and two RBIs.  Haynes had a hit with two RBIs.  Holden Rise had two hits.  Lawson Loiseau and Aidan Heitkamp both had hits as well.  Haynes pitched all six innings allowing four runs, three earned, on eight hits with one walk and one strikeout.

Tri-Valley fell to the Tea Gold 16U team in their final game of the day.  Tea scored five runs in the first two wins and finished with a 7-2 over Tri-Valley.

B. Althoff scored on a passed ball in the top of the fourth for Tri-Valley’s first run of the game.  Keith scored on an error in the top of the sixth as Tri-Valley was held to just three hits in the game.

B. Althoff, Rise, and Van Asselt had the three hits.  Hendrixson pitched 3 2/3 innings allowing seven runs, three earned, on eight hits with three walks and six strikeouts.  Keith pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing just one hit and one walk with two strikeouts.

West Central Defeats Tri-Valley in 16U Action

The West Central and Tri-Valley 16U teams did battle in Humboldt on Monday, June 7th.  West Central scored in every inning and got the 14-1 win in five-innings.

Mason Berens scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the first to give West Central a 1-0 lead.  Duece Sherard had a two run single in the bottom of the second, and West Central increased the lead to 3-0.

Cole Focken got Tri-Valley on the board with an RBI single in the top of the third inning to cut the lead to 3-1.  West Central scored six times in the bottom of the inning.  Braydon Odegaard scored on an error, Gage Nelson drew a bases loaded walk, Derek Renken had an RBI single, Nelson then scored on a wild pitch, and Justin Zirpel hit a sacrifice fly giving West Central a 9-1 lead.

West Central added five more runs in the bottom of the fourth.  Camden Mc Donald had a sacrifice fly, Renken had an RBI single, Sherard had an RBI double, and Zirpel had a two-run single.

Focken finished with a hit and an RBI for Tri-Valley.  Tanner Van Asselt and Everett Althoff also had hits in the game.  Beau Keith pitched two innings giving up seven runs, six earned, on four hits with five walks and five strikeouts.  Holden Rise pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing five runs, four earned, on two hits with three walks.  Mason Hendrixson pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing two earned runs on three hits.

Sherard had two hits, one double, and three RBIs.  Renken had two hits and two RBIs.  Dylan Stromer had two hits.  Zirpel had one hit and three RBIs.  Nelson had a hit and RBI.  Cade Vander Woude had a hit, and Mc Donald had an RBI.  Andrew Zimmer pitched three innings allowing a run, which was unearned, on a hit with two walks and five strikeouts.  Renken pitched two innings allowing two hits and struck out one.

Tri-Valley 16U Falls in Late Innings to Baltic

The Tri-Valley 16U team led 6-2 after five innings of play, but Baltic scored four runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game, and then eight in the top of the seventh to get a 14-6 win over Tri-Valley on Thursday, June 3rd.

After two outs in the bottom of the first inning, Tri-Valley scored two runs.  Beau Keith scored on a bases-loaded walk to Barrett Althoff, and then Mason Hendrixson stole home for a 2-0 lead.  Baltic scored a single run in the top of the fourth inning, but Kaden Egger pushed the Tri-Valley lead to 4-1 after a two-run double in the bottom of the inning.  Baltic again cut the lead in half with a run in the top of the fifth inning, however, Tri-Valley got two more runs when Lawson Loiseau and Althoff scored on wild pitches to give Tri-Valley a 6-2 lead after five innings.

Baltic then took advantage of some Tri-Valley miscues in the top of the sixth inning.  Baltic scored four times on one hit as Tri-Valley had four errors and two walks in the inning.  Baltic then scored eight times on three hits in the top of the seventh taking advantage of seven walks.

Egger finished with a double and two RBIs.  Althoff had a hit and an RBI.  Loiseau had a double.  Keith, Hendrixson, and Tanner Van Asselt all had a single in the game.  Egger pitched the first five innings giving up two runs, both earned, on two hits with four walks and four strikeouts.  Cole Focken pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing six runs, two earned, on two hits with two walks.  Keith pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing six runs, five earned, on two hits with five walks.  Hendrixson pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up one walk.
