After a near upset of undefeated De Smet at the Entringer Classic and then almost two weeks away from game action, the Dell Rapids Quarriers hosted the Flandreau Fliers on Friday, January 3rd.  The Quarriers fell to Flandreau by a score of 72-42.

Dell Rapids opened the game with a 7-0 run and fed off early momentum and excitement.  Flandreau, however, answered with an 18-3 run to close out the quarter with an 18-10 lead.  The lead grew to 13 points by halftime with the score at 31-20.  Flandreau really got the offense going in the second half and outscored Dell Rapids 41-22.

The Quarriers were led by Madysen VanOverbeke with 13 points.  Zoey Hilmoe and Beck Dorn both had six points each.  Maggie Schmidt and Aspen Hansen finished with five points apiece.  Flandreau was led by Hannah Parsley with 19 points and Tishara Hardy with 16 points.

Dell Rapids (0-4) will host the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars on Tuesday, January 7th.  The game can be seen on Big Sioux Media.
