The Sioux Falls Christian Charger caught fire offensively in the second half scoring 49 points. The second half surge gave the Chargers an 85-61 win over the Dell Rapids Quarriers on Tuesday, January 10th, at Sioux Falls Christian High School.
The game was back and forth throughout the first half with both teams trading leads. Sioux Falls Christian held a slim 19-18 lead after the first quarter. Dell Rapids was able to gain the advantage by halftime at 37-36. The Chargers were able to re-gain the lead in the third quarter and led 53-47 at the end of the quarter. Then the Charger offense really caught fire scoring 32 points while hitting six three-point shots in the final quarter for the win.
Dell Rapids finished shooting 22-48 (46%) from the field, 6-21 (29%) from three-point area, and 11-16 (69%) from the free-throw line. The Quarriers had a total of 28 team rebounds, 17 assists, seven steals, and turned the ball over 11 times.
Four players finished in double figures for Dell Rapids. Jeffrey Schuch led the team with 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Tanner Heim had 11 points and three rebounds. Mason Schmidt and Sheldon Siemonsma both finished with 10 points each. Schmidt pulled down four rebounds along with three steals, and Siemonsma dished out four assists. Austin Ellingson had six points, five rebounds, and four assists.
