The Dell Rapids Quarriers ended the regular season with a strong team performance in a 91-52 win over the Deubrook Area Dolphins on Monday, February 22nd, at White. Five Quarrier players finished in double-figures on the night.
Ty Hoglund led the team with 20 points. Sheldon Siemonsma had 16 points, Mason Schmidt had 15, Mason Peter scored 11, and Jeffrey Schuch ended with 10 points in the game. Dell Rapids shot 47% from the field, 43% from three-point area, and 71% from the free-throw line. They forced 23 Dolphin turnovers that led to 33 points.
Dell Rapids led 22-10 at the end of the first quarter. The lead extended to 40-18 by halftime. Both offenses found rhythm in the third quarter as both teams scored over 20 points each. The Quarriers added to their lead by the end of the quarter at 65-40. Dell Rapids out scored Deubrook Area 26-12 in the final quarter.
The Quarriers finished the regular season with an 18-2 record. Region 3A Tournament play begins Tuesday, March 1st.
